My Schengen Visa

In 2021, after my German partner and I met in the Maldives for the first time, I applied for a visit visa to Germany for an unmarried couple at the German embassy in Manila. My application was approved within 14 days.

We also chose to marry in Denmark. So, when my visa was approved, I got all the documents ready for our wedding. Our plan worked out well, even though there was a COVID-19 pandemic at the time. On July 15, 2021, we got married in Denmark, and after my stay in Germany, I went back to the Philippines.

Then, on February 24, 2022, I applied for a Family Reunification Visa at the German Embassy in Makati. My visa got approved on April 1, 2022.

My husband and I were incredibly happy because the process only took a month. We didn't expect it to be so fast because we had read about others waiting for a year before their visa was approved.
